Where have all the good men gone and where are all the gods?
Where’s the streetwise Hercules to fight the rising odds?
Isn’t there a White Knight upon a fiery steed?
Late at night I toss and I turn and I dream of what I need…
Our society is conditioned for “hero-worship” from the gods and heroes of mythology, to the daring Prince Charmings in Grimms’ Fairy Tales to the wild recent success of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Who DOESN’T want Thor or Tony Stark or (for you DC types) Batman to swoop in and fix ALL the things?
Me? At the risk of sounding hella egotistical – I always fantasized about being a hero – blame it on the Wonder Woman Underoos, I guess. So perhaps that’s why I’m so thoroughly disenchanted with our current political climate.
I trust most of you who are “politically active” find your phones and email inboxes subject to the unrelenting torrent of hourly reminders that the midterms are fast-approaching.
I very rarely donate to political candidates. It kinda sucks that registering to vote apparently puts you on ALL the mailing lists. (Psst – Dems – wanna save the planet? Stop cutting down trees to print cards to SCARE me about the existence of our nation’s Second Amendment!)
And excuse ME WinRed.com but I don’t quite believe a billionaire’s son, whose father isn’t even running in a race right now is DESPERATELY texting me for MY $45.00 contribution. I see what you’re doing McCarthy and I don’t respect it.
Aside from the endless pleas for cash that I don’t have, thanks to the worst inflation of my lifetime, there’s a bunch of ultra-tepid messaging coming from both sides of the isle. Everyone from Team Blue to Team Red is making vaguely worded promises about “constitutional rights,” “safety,” and “accountability,” all while back-peddling as hard the “White House” after a Biden presser on what any of the SPECIFICS of those “promises” might entail.
Being a Florida Gurl, I direct you to Marco Rubio. He sat out the primaries in their entirety and I’m kinda pissed no one put in to challenge his seat. His head is definitely NOT “in the game” anymore. The last time I saw “RUB-I-OOOO” was at a South Florida Trump rally just before the 2020 election. He was energized. He was pumped up. He was the lil’ firecracker who had run a whirlwind presidential primary race four years earlier to finish in a Top Three slot.
But after the 2020 election he went DARK. Not just quiet but – DARK – like his light ring had blown out and he was too busy(?) to order a new one from his Prime account.
His most memorable soundbites from the past 12-month cycle are the sound of him “stepping in it” as Victoria Nuland blew the lid off of the “Biolabs in Ukraine” story during what I believe was intended to be a “pro-intervention” committee hearing, and his recent call to make Puerto Rico the 51st State. Um… Rubio – you’re running for a seat in Florida – NOT PR…
I personally, don’t have a problem with the idea of Puerto Rican Statehood, but I struggle to see how it’s an issue that demands much attention from Florida voters or the larger Conservative movement at the moment. And I gotta wonder if Puerto Rico wants any part of boarding this currently sinking ship.
Point of this being – I get the feeling that something is WRONG with Rubio.
“He’s a Republican!” shouts the peanut gallery.
Yes. But more than that. He acts as though he’s “in trouble.” Like maybe somebody has “something on him.” And the more I find out about K-Street lobbyists, foreign government “donations,” NGOs, Dark Money, Insider Trading and Epstein’s Client List, the more likely I find it that the bulk of our elected officials have “something on them.”
I “believe” (blindly – with no evidence) that many of our elected representatives embarked on careers in politics with “good intentions.” They saw themselves as someone who could “make a difference.” And somehow, through the grand sifting of wheat from chaff, they were plucked from obscurity, dusted off by a political party, funded and shuttled to DC to do “God’s Work” for “We The People.” Only once they got there, they got sucked in to back-room deals, secret handshakes and a WHOLE LOTTA “I used to be like you, son, but this is just the way the process works, and if you wanna ‘make a difference,’ you gotta play by their rules,” lectures from kindly statesmen with long-standing careers.
So whether it’s sexual, financial or flat out criminal in nature, I believe that the VAST majority of people in government have “something on them,” that would potentially destroy their careers and reputations if it were to become common knowledge to the public. And when these secrets DO leak out the public, I believe it’s because they wouldn’t play ball in a pivotal moment and/or the machine was done with them and needed to make room for a new team member on the roster.
There are no Saints in DC – only Sinners who are occasionally permitted by the dark hands pulling the strings to advocate for things voters actually care about. Wanna know what secrets these people are hiding? Look to their blind spots. Most probably get money from arms manufacturers, hence the Congressional spending hard-on for Ukraine. Some probably bought stock on insider tips, hence why NO ONE on Capitol Hill has uttered the word Remdesivir in spite of MOUNTAINS of evidence of its deleterious effects on the human body.
The point is, I’ve been waiting since Epstein was arrested for the entire government to topple under the weight of its own corruption – bracing for impact daily. If you think “your side” is innocent, there’s probably a picture of you next the word naïve in the dictionary…
But beyond the corruption, there’s also a weakness shared among all these “firebrands.” None of them are willing to be SAMSON. Forget Marvel and mythology, what we REALLY need is a bad boy of Biblical proportions! Yeah – Samson had ego problems. Yep – he liked the hoo-ooers. And he had a REAL blind spot for Delilah. That was his downfall. Shorn, shackled and sightless, he was rendered helpless in the temple of the Philistines as the public mocked him and praised their false gods. For without his hair he had no power. Talk about an “all is lost” third-act scenario! But in that moment of weakness, Samson decided it was better to sacrifice himself than to let the likes of Blackrock, Pfizer, Gilead, Alphabet and the CCP win. He brought the temple down on himself to destroy the opposition. And his people not only forgave him. They honored him in his death for his heroism and sacrifice.
I don’t know if the wheels of corruption will KILL our Congressional Representatives if they bring the tower down. Probably. But definitely an effort would be made to imprison such a person. But if the demolition were COMPLETE – if they asked God – as Samson did, “Let me (my political career/reputation) die with the Philistines,” I have to believe that this evil could be purged and the work of God could be accomplished.
I didn’t always want that outcome. I worried that if the Epstein client list was made public, it would topple the government and weaken the US to the point where the world would be vulnerable to communist attack or something even worse. But I understand now, there is nothing worse than a nation of 330,000,000 souls being led into false wars, infighting, and the oppression of weaker nations at the whim of deviant well-moneyed tyrants who view the world as their own personal chess board.
I also believe that the people of this nation ARE strong enough to come back – even from the very brink of destruction and desolation.
So, you want my money and my vote this November? Turn in your tights and capes, confess your sins and promise me you will be my Samson – and I will make sure you’re pulled from the wreckage and honored once the temple falls.
